Don’t Get Too Close to Me!

Affability. Repeat the word to yourself. Again – affability. There is something about that word which makes you smile. It describes the person who is friendly, easy to approach and to talk to. 

We all have encountered people who are affable and quite honestly, they tend to be the people we gravitate towards. Have you ever been around someone who is a “pokey person”? No one really looks forward to approaching a porcupine! You don’t have to be the loudest, most jovial person in the room to be affable. This person can be quiet, but has a self-possession which brings forth an easy demeanor and warm disposition. They readily invite or allow others to contribute to the conversation and don’t feel the need to be the center of attention.
