      For members of the Dominican Family who pray the Liturgy of the Hours, this resource provides the proper texts specific to the feasts and memorials of our Dominican calendar. The book is beautifully bound and designed to correspond to the main volumes of the Liturgy of the Hours in style, so that its layout is familiar and easy to use. Short biographies are included for each saint or blessed, along with the antiphons, readings, and prayers for their Office. The volume also contains the Order’s five sets of additional texts for memorials of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday.

      This book was originally prepared for use by our own Sisters, and we are happy to make it available as well to other Dominican communities, members of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Dominic, and Lay Dominicans.

      Please note that this resource includes the propers for Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and (for the major feasts) Daytime Prayer. Texts for the Office of Readings are not included.

      This book corresponds to the most recent update to the Order’s liturgical calendar, promulgated in 2019. The proper Dominican texts are from the provisional English translation published “ad experimentum” in 2012 and in use by English-speaking Dominicans pending a definitive translation. Other texts (Scripture passages, psalms and canticles, etc.) are all from fully approved liturgical translations.
