Kerygma is a Greek word for “proclamation”. The early apostles joyfully proclaimed all they had seen and heard firsthand from loving and knowing Jesus Christ. As credible witnesses, their teachings “cut to the heart” (Acts 2:37) and lead many to conversion. We, too, are called to joyfully proclaim the good news. This illustration provides a visual summary of the four key points of the kerygma which include:
- God’s loving plan;
- Sin and its consequences;
- God sending His Son for our redemption;
- Our response of love.
