About the Developers

Sr. John Dominic, O.P. | Sr. John Dominic Rasmussen was born in Berkley, California and moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of five.  She converted to Catholicism during her sophomore year of high school and entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in 1982.  In 1997, she and three other Sisters founded the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since the founding, Sister has served as the Bursar General and overseen the financial growth of the community and schools.  Sister has also been involved in Catholic education for over 35 years as both a teacher and administrator for 20 years.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and a master’s degree in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville.  From her experience in administration and teacher she has developed Disciple of Christ-Education in Virtue which provides schools, parishes and families the resources to learn and live a virtuous life in Christ.  She is currently the Executive Director of Openlight Media which produces videos and print publications. Her top virtues are modesty, loyalty, and circumspection. 

Sr. Athanasius, O.P. | Sr. Athanasius is a native of Nashua, New Hampshire.  She earned a Bachelors of Arts in Theology and Catechetics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio.  After teaching in Massachusetts, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.  She has experience working with high school, junior high, and elementary school students. She also has expertise in catechetical material design and digital and print resource production. Her top virtues are trustworthiness, honesty and responsibility.

Joseph Harburg | Joseph has been coding with both front-end and back-end programming languages for around six years. Having started out as a self-taught programmer as a hobby, he turned his hobby into a career and earned multiple online programming certifications, completed many online courses, and graduated from an immersive computer programming boot-camp. He has been developing software and websites full-time for the Dominican Sisters of Mary for 3 years. A programming language and web technology enthusiast, he is always looking to learn new things. His top virtues are circumspection, foresight, and judgment. 

Jaclyn Gaffaney | Jaclyn Gaffaney researches and evaluates wellbeing initiatives and social programs to optimize their development and implementation. She is an advanced PhD student with concentrations in positive organizational psychology and research methods & evaluation at Claremont Graduate University. She holds a master’s in applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s from the University of Southern California. Her top virtues are circumspection, fairness, and foresight.

Sari Vasquez | Using both faith and science, Sari Vasquez is passionate about supporting young people to flourish. As an educator, she has taught 7-12th grade, undergraduate and graduate students. Sari earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and master’s degrees from Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a master’s degree in Christian Spirituality at the Oblate School of Theology. Her top virtues are studiousness, trustworthiness, and obedience. 

Kathryn Wessling | Kathryn Wessling utilizes, researches, and statistically validates psychological measurements related to wellbeing, resilience, emotional and spiritual health, virtue, and character strengths. She earned her doctorate from Duke, a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and her undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech. She gratefully attended Catholic school in the Benedictine tradition: ora et labora. Her top virtues are reverence, trustworthiness, and affability.
