COURAGE

Definition:
Facing difficulties or dangers to do what is right regardless of the cost.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, alone I am weak, but with You I can do all things. Give me the grace to be strong against temptations and bold in proclaiming You and Your Church on earth.
Amen.

SAINT

Bl. Chiara Luce
Chiara was an intelligent and athletic teenager who was diagnosed with bone cancer. Her prayer during her intense suffering was, “Jesus, if You want it, I want it, too!”

PRACTICING COURAGE:

  • I do the right thing, even when it’s unpopular.
  • I stand up for things worth fighting for.
  • I rise to the occasion and face up to things that are difficult.

SCRIPTURE:

Acts 4:29-31
The disciples raised their voices to God with one accord and said, “Now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
